Classification and description of chemical protective clothing

Time:2024-08-12 19:07:02      Click:104

Chemical protective clothing is one of the protective clothing of firefighters, which is a protective clothing worn by firefighters to protect themselves from chemical dangerous goods or corrosive substances when they are engaged in fire fighting and rescue at the fire site and accident scene with dangerous chemicals and corrosive substances.

Chemical protective clothing may or may not be hermetically sealed, depending on the application and the level of hazard. All materials used in protective clothing must be resistant to chemical penetration and degradation. Seam structure is also an important factor affecting the performance of protective clothing, if the treatment is not good, the needle of the fabric will leave enough pores to allow small materials or liquids to pass through. Thus, the protection performance is reduced.

Chemical protective clothing is divided into two categories: light and heavy.

Light protective clothing is generally made of nylon coated PVC, light weight, suitable for the whole body protection of dangerous places, can prevent the general acid and alkali damage, do not need to be equipped with breathing apparatus. It usually weighs about 5 kilograms.

Heavy protective clothing can be made of multi-layer high performance chemical protection composite material, with tear, abrasion resistance, flame retardant, heat resistance, insulation, waterproof sealing and other excellent performance, can protect a variety of toxic and harmful liquid, gas, smoke, solid chemical substances, biological agents, military gas and nuclear pollution.

Airtight protective clothing is generally made of neoprene rubber, which is corrosion resistant to a variety of different chemicals and is very suitable for working in cold and high temperature environments. Heavy protective clothing is generally equipped with respirators, and the weight of protective clothing is generally about 6 kilograms.
